Restorative Yoga

A 30 minute practice

In this 30-minute restorative yoga practice, we’ll offer ourselves the opportunity to rest, which can sometimes be the hardest thing of all!

In case you’re not familiar with restorative yoga practices and/or to help prepare you (a great way to support the nervous system going into it!), these classes consist of just a few poses held for 3-5 minutes each, using more props than we might in a typical class. The idea is to let yourself rest into the support of these props and the stillness, just as you would during savasana.

Align by Kait Santos shares weekly movement practices that take minimal time and support your body, mind, and nervous system. Sign up here!

In terms of props, in this practice we use:

  • A bolster or pillow

  • A blanket

  • A strap (or a belt from a robe)

  • Two yoga blocks (or a stack of books)
